A Note from Team Handily

In June 2025, we launched our first version of Handily - a simple mobile app designed to help tradespeople connect and collaborate.We have learnt a lot along the way, particularly about what tradespeople REALLY need - community, local connections and trust.We've taken all the feedback and we're now building Version 2. It's set to be a completly new experience designed from the ground up for the trades industry.To everyone who signed up, got involved and supported Version 1 - THANK YOU for being a part of the very beginning.We've closed down the first version so we can focus completely on what's next. 1. What is Handily?
Handily is a platform where tradespeople and businesses in the industry connect. On the app you can find work and find workers—without middlemen, bidding wars or pointless faff. And so much more. It's built for those in the trade, by those in the trade.2. Do I need to pay to use Handily?
If you’re a tradesperson - nope. It’s completely free to join, create a profile, start connecting and find work or find workers. Larger businesses posting jobs may pay later down the line, but we’ll be upfront when that comes in.3. How do I show I’m available for work?
Toggle your availability ON and we’ll let local hirers know you’re up for it. Toggle it OFF when you’re not. You can update it anytime from the navigation bar.4. What does ‘Available Today’ mean?
If your availability is ON, you’ll appear in the ‘Who’s About Today’ list, so employers know you’re ready to jump on a job.5. How do I post a job?
Hit ‘Post a Job’, fill in the trade, location, date and a few quick details, then slap it on The Wall. We’ll notify the right workers straight away.6. What happens after I post a job?
Workers who are up for it can hit ‘I’m Up For It’, which sends you a direct message. Once the job’s taken, mark it as done or delete it so you don’t keep getting messages.7. Can I message someone directly?
Yep. Once you find a worker (or job), tap through and drop them a message. Keep it professional and clear—especially if it’s your first time working together.8. What’s The Wall vs The Workbench?
The Wall = Where jobs get posted.
The Workbench = Where you search for trades.
Think of it like: jobs go up on the Wall, and workers stand by the Bench.9. What’s ‘My Site’?
Your own control centre. You’ll find your profile, ratings, chats, posts and visibility settings all in one place.10. How do ratings work?
Only people you’ve worked with on Handily can rate you. Ratings are category-based (like reliability, work ethic etc.), and you can rate each other after the job’s done.11. Can I delete a rating I got?
No, but you can challenge it if it’s clearly unfair. We’ll take a proper look and step in if something doesn’t add up.12. What does the green dot mean?
That worker’s currently available. Doesn’t mean they’re free all day, but they’ve said they’re ready to work now.13. What if I need to report something?
Head to the report screen, select what’s up, and tell us what happened. We’ll handle it properly and may get in touch if we need more info.14. What is ‘Behind The Tools’?
It’s the space for real talk. Mental health, life off-site, stories worth telling. The stuff that matters but doesn’t always get said.15. Can I use Handily if I’m not in England?
Not yet, but we’re expanding fast. Register your interest and we’ll let you know the moment we go live in your area.
